Qatar World Cup 10-Ball: Magpantay, Biado and Gorst Out in Last 16
Defending champion Jonas Magpantay, second seed Carlo Biado and fourth seed Fedor Gorst all fell in a single window in Doha — Joshua Filler is the only seed left standing for the quarter-finals.
The Qatar World Cup 10-Ball lost its three biggest surviving names in a single session on Wednesday — defending champion Jonas Magpantay, second seed Carlo Biado and fourth seed Fedor Gorst all beaten inside three hours at the Ezdan Palace Hotel.
Magpantay's title defence ended 11-5 against WPA world No. 1 Wojciech Szewczyk, Biado went down 11-7 to Konrad Juszczyszyn a night after dethroning Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, and Gorst fell 11-10 on the final rack to Hsieh Chia Chen. Fifth seed Joshua Filler, an 11-8 winner over Tobias Bongers in an all-German tie, is the only seeded player left.

The seeds fall in one window
Three of the four remaining ranked players departed in a single session. Magpantay never found a rhythm against Szewczyk, the reigning two-time world 10-ball champion turning the marquee tie into a rout. Biado, who had removed Sanchez Ruiz 11-6 on Tuesday night, could not hold off Juszczyszyn — the Pole's second straight win over a big name after his hill-hill escape against Dominik Jastrząb.
Gorst came closest to surviving. The fourth seed went rack-for-rack with Hsieh Chia Chen before the Taiwanese player closed it 11-10 — the round's only decider and the biggest comeback of Hsieh's week after he had already sent Biado to the losers' side in qualifying.
Dương Quốc Hoàng's run also ended, the Vietnamese player beaten 11-6 by 2024 champion Daniel Macioł, while John Morra edged Rocky Tullao 11-9 in the round's tightest non-derby tie.
Two Filipinos left standing
Seven Filipinos started the round; the two all-Filipino ties sent Miguel Salvilla and Albert James Manas through — Salvilla over Jerico Bonus 11-9, Manas over Jundel Mazon 11-5. With Biado, Tullao, Bonus and Mazon all gone, the pair carry the flag into the quarter-finals.

All four ties went off together at 15:00 Doha (12:00 UTC), races to 11 — table assignments per the QBSF scoring feed.
