Qatar World Cup 10-Ball Results: Souquet Among 32 Eliminated

Ralf Souquet heads 32 players out at 0-2 in Doha, while the losers' qualification round runs through Monday evening to decide the last 32 places in the last 64.

The Qatar World Cup 10-Ball completed its losers' first round on Monday at the Ezdan Palace Hotel in Doha, and the second wave of exits carried the biggest name of the tournament so far: Ralf Souquet. Thirty-two players have now left at 0-2, while the 32 survivors of the losers' bracket moved into the qualification round that decides the last places in the last 64.

Souquet heads the second wave of exits

All 32 losers' first-round matches are now final. Souquet, the most decorated player in the field, lost 5-9 to Egypt's Abdelrahman Salama Nasr after his earlier defeat against Bernie Regalario, ending his week inside the first two days. Albin Ouschan's elimination, confirmed in the morning wave, now has company: Lu Hui Chan, Álvaro Canóniga, Wiktor Fortuński and Radosław Babica are also on their way home.

The notable final scorelines from losers round one:

Losers' qualification in progress

The 32 losers' first-round winners advanced into the qualification round against the 32 players beaten on the winners' side — one win each now separating them from the last 64 and a guaranteed $3,000. Sixteen of the 32 qualification matches were in progress when the scores were recorded:

Match Score when recorded

The remaining 16 qualification matches were scheduled for approximately 18:30 in Doha (15:30 UTC): Joshua Filler vs Jan Van Lierop, Jayson Shaw vs Wisam Dakkak, Wojciech Szewczyk vs Mi Le, Thorsten Hohmann vs Hsu Jui An, Aleksa Pecelj vs Juan Carlos Expósito, Sanjin Pehlivanović vs Rocky Tullao, Mieszko Fortuński vs Abdelrahman Salama Nasr, Jundel Mazon vs Shahbaaz Adil Khan, Hubert Łopotko vs Bader Alawadhi, Marco Teutscher vs Casper Matikainen, Meshari Bouhaimed vs Alex Montpellier, Abdullah Alenezi vs Elliott Sanderson, David Zalman vs Mohamed Gamal Emara, Darryl Chia vs Maks Benko, Tobias Bongers vs Hassan Alnahari and Mazen Berjaoui vs Ruben Cuna.
