Qatar World Cup 10-Ball Results: 21 Into Last 64 Amid Upsets

Scores from the $450,000 event as of Monday midday in Doha — Mustafa Alnar stunned Joshua Filler, Aivhan Maluto beat world champion Wojciech Szewczyk, and Albin Ouschan is already out.

The Qatar World Cup 10-Ball has burned through 101 of its 128 scheduled matches at the Ezdan Palace Hotel in Doha, and the bracket already carries serious damage. Joshua Filler, Wojciech Szewczyk, Jayson Shaw and Thorsten Hohmann have all been beaten, two-time world champion Albin Ouschan is already eliminated, and 21 players have locked up places in the last 64.

Result Stage What it changed
Mustafa Alnar 9-5 Joshua Filler Round 1 Filler dropped to the losers' side on day one
Aivhan Maluto 9-6 Wojciech Szewczyk Winners qualification The two-time world 10-ball champion lost his winners' bracket spot

Sanjin Pehlivanovic 9-8 Naoyuki Oi Round 1 Hill-hill defeat for one of the draw's seeds
Ruslan Chinakhov 9-6 Wiktor Zielinski Round 1 Poland's WPA No. 4 sent to the losers' side
Raymund Faraon 9-5 Albin Ouschan Losers round 1 Ouschan became the first marquee name eliminated

Who has qualified for the last 64 so far?

Twenty-one of the 32 winners-qualification matches were complete when the scores were recorded. The winners skip the losers' bracket entirely and wait for the single-elimination phase.

Player Qualifying win
Jonas Magpantay 9-5 vs Jan Van Lierop
Ali Alobaidli 9-2 vs Juan Carlos Exposito
Juri Pisklov 9-6 vs Mieszko Fortunski
Szymon Kural 9-3 vs Jundel Mazon
Mario He 9-7 vs Abdullah Alenezi
Eklent Kaci 9-8 vs Hsu Jui An
John Morra 9-6 vs Marco Teutscher
Walter Laikre 9-4 vs Meshari Bouhaimed
Aivhan Maluto 9-6 vs Wojciech Szewczyk
Mohammed Baabad 9-7 vs Jayson Shaw
Kledio Kaci 9-8 vs Hubert Lopotko
Jerico Bonus 9-7 vs Sanjin Pehlivanovic
Ameer Ali 9-1 vs Darryl Chia
Oliver Szolnoki 9-6 vs David Zalman
Daniel Guttenberger 9-8 vs Tobias Bongers
Ruslan Chinakhov 9-6 vs Mazen Berjaoui
Dominik Jastrzab 9-2 vs Maximilian Lechner
Daniel Maciol 9-4 vs AJ Manas
Fedor Gorst 9-3 vs Jefrey Roda
Wu Kun Lin 9-4 vs Miguel Salvilla
Denis Grabe 9-5 vs Bernie Regalario

The names on that list tell two stories. The first is continuity: defending champion Magpantay, 2025 runner-up Kural, 2024 champion Maciol and former world 10-ball champions Eklent Kaci and — still live at the time of writing — Carlo Biado are all tracking toward the knockout rounds. The second is Poland's depth. Kural, Pisklov and Jastrzab all qualified on the winners' side, even as Zielinski and Szewczyk slipped to the losers' bracket.

The Philippines also has reasons to be encouraged beyond Magpantay. Maluto produced the result of the round by beating Szewczyk, and Bonus edged Pehlivanovic. Ameer Ali's 9-1 demolition of Darryl Chia was the widest winners-qualification margin of the day.

Which favorites were beaten early?

The double-elimination format means a first defeat is not fatal — but it removes all margin for error. Filler's 5-9 loss to Iraq's Mustafa Alnar in round one was the loudest result of the opening day, and it left the German needing consecutive wins on the one-loss side to reach the last 64.

Szewczyk at least fell in the winners-qualification round, so his route back requires one fewer survival match. Shaw, Oi and Zielinski are in the same situation: beaten once, still alive, no more room for mistakes.

Hohmann's 8-9 loss to Dimitrios Loukatos and Ralf Souquet's 5-9 defeat against Bernie Regalario removed two of the event's most experienced names from the winners' side. Aleksa Pecelj, fresh from clinching a Mosconi Cup debut, was beaten 9-7 by David Alcaide.

Who is already out of the tournament?

Sixteen players left Doha with 0-2 records and a 113th-128th-place finish. Ouschan is the headline: the Austrian lost 6-9 to Walter Laikre in round one, then fell 5-9 to Filipino qualifier Raymund Faraon in losers round one.

The other eliminated players are Abdullatif Al Fawal, Abdulrauf Domrang, Hassan Al Mousawi, Jeffrey Ignacio, Jonas Souto, Keishin Kamihashi, Mark Anthony, Mefarah Al Baqmi, Mohammad Soufi, Mohanad Jasim, Nadeem Gull, Nguyen Phuc Long, Radoslaw Babica, Sullivan Clark and Tommy Tokoph.

What was still in progress when the scores were recorded?

Eleven winners-qualification matches were live at the timestamp above. The most significant number on the board belonged to Alnar, who led former world champion Niels Feijen 8-4 — one rack from adding a second major scalp to the Filler win.

Match Score when recorded
Francisco Sanchez Ruiz vs Habib El Hussein 8-7
Karl Gnadeberg vs Mateusz Sniegocki 8-8
Alexander Kazakis vs Assis Tadique 8-6
Robbie Capito vs Hayder Abdulsattar 7-4
Duong Quoc Hoang vs Marlon Caneda 6-4
Khalid Alghamdi vs Konrad Juszczyszyn 8-6
Alex Pagulayan vs Mahmoud Charif 6-5
Dimitrios Loukatos vs Sambor Stachowiak 7-3
Carlo Biado vs Hsieh Chia Chen 7-5
Bashar Hussain vs David Alcaide 7-4
Mustafa Alnar vs Niels Feijen 8-4

Vietnam's Duong Quoc Hoang was leading Filipino qualifier Marlon Caneda 6-4, while world No. 3 Sanchez Ruiz had reached the hill against El Hussein. Qatari interest stayed alive through Bashar Hussain, who led Alcaide 7-4, and Alghamdi, two racks from qualifying at 8-6.

What does the bracket look like from here?

Half of the last-64 field comes through the winners' side and half through the losers' bracket, where the surviving 48 players fight for the remaining 32 slots. From the last 64 onward the event becomes single elimination: races to 11, then a race-to-13 final on October 29.

The champion collects $100,000 from the $450,000 fund, with $40,000 for the runner-up, $15,000 for semifinalists and $3,000 guaranteed for reaching the last 64. Coverage is on the Qatar Billiard Sports Federation's YouTube channel.

Every match added to the board from now on either confirms a qualifier or sends another contender into the losers' bracket — and as Ouschan's exit already showed, a second loss ends the week regardless of the name on the scoresheet.

Where is the Qatar World Cup 10-Ball being played?

At the Ezdan Palace Hotel in Doha, Qatar. The main stage runs October 24-29, after qualifiers held October 19-22.

Who are the biggest names eliminated so far?

Is Joshua Filler out of the Qatar World Cup 10-Ball?

No. Filler lost 5-9 to Mustafa Alnar in round one but remains alive on the losers' side under the double-elimination format, which runs until 64 players remain.

How much prize money is on offer?

The total fund is $450,000, with $100,000 to the champion and $40,000 to the runner-up. Reaching the last 64 guarantees $3,000.
