Ultimate Pool USA Grand Finals: Day-7 Results Snapshot

The $112,000 8-Ball Teams final was still running past midnight with Rack Of Ages ahead of Amigos, and the Mixed Pairs final stayed unplayed for a second night.

Updated 13:00 UTC, Sunday November 8: the 8-Ball Teams final finished after the cutoff — result added below; the Mixed Pairs final remains unplayed, listed by DigitalPool for 20:00 UTC Sunday.

The richest match in league pool history was still being decided when Saturday ran out of hours. The $112,000 8-Ball Teams final between Amigos and Rack Of Ages began shortly after 8 p.m. ET and was deep into the night when this snapshot was taken — while the Mixed Pairs final, the last leftover from Friday, did not get on at all.

8-Ball Teams: Rack Of Ages take the $112,000 title

Saturday's semi-finals set up the biggest match in league pool — worth $112,000 to the champions and $50,000 to the runners-up out of a $282,000 purse. Amigos survived the day's tightest contest, edging How You Like Me Now 17-16; Rack Of Ages had it far easier, beating Big Time Rockets 31-12.

The Amigos–Rack Of Ages final broke off at 8:13 p.m. ET and was still in progress past 1:30 a.m., with the DigitalPool scoreboard reading 25-17 to Rack Of Ages when the snapshot was taken. Rack Of Ages went on to win it — the official bracket records a 25-17 final, completed at 12:55 UTC Sunday after nearly 13 hours at the table — collecting the $112,000 top prize, the biggest payday in league pool history. Amigos settle for the $50,000 runners-up cheque.

Semi-final winners confirmed by the official DigitalPool bracket and SportShorts' wire; all scores above are DigitalPool's readings, and the final result is the bracket's own record — marked complete at 12:55 UTC Sunday.

Mixed Pairs: final still unplayed — again

For a second straight night the Mixed Pairs final never started. Ashley Benoit & Chris Melling against Avah Weems & Oscar Dominguez was carried over from Friday, listed for Saturday night, and still unplayed at the cutoff; the DigitalPool bracket now shows a Sunday listing, though its schedule has slipped all week.

Both semi-finals went on Friday: Benoit & Melling beat Styer & Fefilova-Styer — the National Pairs champions, sent straight back out — 6-1, while Weems & Dominguez took the hill-hill semi 6-5 over Van Boening & Mast.

Scores per the official DigitalPool bracket at the cutoff.

Around the hall

  • The opens — the 512-player National Open and the 128-player National Women's Open continued bracket play through Saturday, both bound for Sunday; the National Junior Open began in the morning.
  • NSL Stage 2 — all five of the league's singles divisions are now settled: the Semi-Pro final between Michael Bramlett and Kevin Wampner was completed overnight, with the DigitalPool bracket recording Bramlett as champion — a result unconfirmed by a second source at the cutoff.

What happens next

Rack Of Ages' win crowns the last league team champion of the week and pays out the biggest cheque in league pool. The Mixed Pairs final remains on the board — listed by DigitalPool for 20:00 UTC Sunday — and Sunday still has all three opens to settle. Live brackets for every event are on DigitalPool.
