Aleksa Pecelj Completes Team Rest of the World for 2026 Reyes Cup
The Phoenix Open champion and US Open semifinalist will make his Reyes Cup debut at Makati Coliseum from October 15–18.
Aleksa Pecelj will make his Reyes Cup debut after receiving the World Nineball Tour wildcard, completing Team Rest of the World for the 2026 event at Makati Coliseum from October 15–18.
Why did Aleksa Pecelj earn the wildcard?
Pecelj’s selection follows the strongest season of his WNT career. The Serbian player won the Phoenix Open, reached the semifinals of the US Open Pool Championship and finished runner-up at the Arizona Open Pool Championship.
Those results established him as one of the tour’s most dangerous emerging players and earned him a first opportunity to compete in the Reyes Cup.
World Nineball Tour CEO Emily Frazer described Pecelj as a standout performer and a genuine dark horse whose commitment to the tour made him a compelling wildcard choice.
What will Pecelj bring to Team Rest of the World?
Pecelj arrives with current form, confidence and recent experience in high-pressure matches. His ability to recover during difficult contests has also strengthened his reputation as a comeback player.
The debutant said he has been practising for as many as eight hours per day and is determined to contribute immediately. Although this will be his first Reyes Cup appearance, his 2026 results suggest he is ready for the demands of a short, intense team competition.
What does his selection mean for the team?
The wildcard completes Team Rest of the World’s line-up. The squad will travel to the Philippines attempting to stop Team Asia, which won the first two editions of the Reyes Cup.
Pecelj adds a fresh competitive profile to the roster: a player with little history in the event but strong recent evidence that he can challenge established names. That uncertainty could make him especially valuable in the match selections.
When and where will the 2026 Reyes Cup take place?
The third Reyes Cup will be staged at Makati Coliseum in Makati, Philippines, from October 15–18, 2026. The event will be available live through WNT TV.
At the time of Pecelj’s announcement, Team Rest of the World was complete, while Team Asia still had one place to confirm.
Why is Pecelj’s debut significant?
The selection rewards a season in which Pecelj converted consistent performances into major results. It also gives the Reyes Cup a newcomer capable of becoming one of the event’s defining players.
For Team Rest of the World, the task is clear: end Asia’s two-title streak. For Pecelj, the Manila event is an opportunity to turn a breakthrough individual season into an important contribution on the team stage.
