# WPA Rankings: Szewczyk and Pia Filler Set the Pace

*The men's summit is separated by 533 points. The women's leader has more than twelve times that cushion.*

The latest WPA tables don't offer much breathing room at the top of the men's game. Wojciech Szewczyk leads Joshua Filler by only 533 points, while Pia Filler owns a far wider cushion in the women's standings.

## Who leads the WPA men's ranking?

Szewczyk sits first with 44,276 points in the list dated September 26, 2026. The timing matters: his total includes 9,000 points from the 2025 WPA 10-Ball World Championship column and 2,720 from the 2026 China Open.

Filler is close enough to turn the lead into a one-event argument. He has 43,743 points, with Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz another 615 points behind him in third.

| Rank | Player | Country | Points | Gap to leader |
|---:|---|:---:|---:|---:|
| 1 | Wojciech Szewczyk | Poland | 44,276 | 0 |
| 2 | Joshua Filler | Germany | 43,743 | 533 |
| 3 | Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz | Spain | 43,128 | 1,148 |
| 4 | Wiktor Zielinski | Poland | 40,440 | 3,836 |
| 5 | Daniel Maciol | Poland | 38,725 | 5,551 |

The eye-catching detail isn't simply Szewczyk at No. 1. Poland holds three of the first five places. Zielinski and Maciol give the country unusual depth near the summit, even before Szymon Kural enters the picture at No. 13.

## How secure is Pia Filler's lead?

Much more secure, at least on paper. Pia Filler leads the women's table with 51,464 points, 6,536 clear of Tzu-Chien Wei.

Kristina Tkach is only 335 points behind Wei, and the next two places are separated by just 84. The race behind first is packed tightly; first place itself is not.

| Rank | Player | Country | Points | Gap to leader |
|---:|---|:---:|---:|---:|
| 1 | Pia Filler | Germany | 51,464 | 0 |
| 2 | Tzu-Chien Wei | Chinese Taipei | 44,928 | 6,536 |
| 3 | Kristina Tkach | AIN | 44,593 | 6,871 |
| 4 | Seo Seoa | South Korea | 43,644 | 7,820 |
| 5 | Chieh-Yu Chou | Chinese Taipei | 43,560 | 7,904 |

Filler's total is built across a long run of events rather than one outsized result. Her 2026 columns include 4,500 points from the WPA 8-Ball World Championship, 4,320 from the Poison Saigon 9-Ball Open and 3,400 from the WPA 10-Ball World Championship.

## What do the rankings say about regional strength?

The men's top 10 tilts heavily toward Europe. Seven places belong to players representing Poland, Germany, Spain or Austria. Aloysius Yapp of Singapore is ninth and Carlo Biado of the Philippines is tenth, the two Asian representatives in that group.

The women's top five tells a different story. Three of those spots belong to Asian players: Wei and Chou for Chinese Taipei, plus Seo for South Korea. The contrast is useful. The two tables are global, but their leading clusters aren't the same.

Vietnam's highest-ranked man is Quoc Hoang Duong at No. 65 with 12,183 points. That number leaves him outside the immediate chase for first, though it also gives Vietnamese fans a clear marker for the next ranking events.

## Who leads the Heyball lists?

The WPA page also carries separate Heyball standings dated August 16, 2026. Jack Whelan leads the men's list with 28,908 points, ahead of Jordan Shepherd on 22,680. Waratthanun Sukritthanes tops the women's list with 32,112, followed by Wendy Jans on 25,524.

Those tables shouldn't be blended with the main pool rankings. They use their own event columns and scoring history, so the point totals answer a different competitive question.

## Why will the next update be worth watching?

A 533-point lead is thin by the scale of this table. One strong event can change the order between Szewczyk and Filler, and Sanchez-Ruiz is close enough to make it a three-player fight.

The women's race has a different tension. Pia Filler has room, but Wei, Tkach, Seo and Chou are packed within 1,368 points of one another. The next update may leave the leader untouched while reshuffling nearly everything behind her.
